Dedicated to the protection of life and property through prevention, education, and emergency response.

Seward Volunteer Fire Fighters have celebrated 100 years of service from 1906 to 2006.  The Seward Volunteer Fire Department consists of the Fire Chief, the Deputy Fire Chief, and an Administrative Assistant.  It has 32 dedicated volunteer firefighters who give their time and energy to the community by performing the following services:

  • Fire Suppression - structural, marine, and wild land
  • Life Safety Inspection
  • Public Education
  • Auto Extrication
  • Fire Intervention
  • Marine Fire Suppression
  • Mountain and Water Rescue
  • Mutual Aid with other agencies
If you are interested in volunteering with the Fire Department, fight fire or auxiliary positions are open.  Stop by the Fire Station at 316 Fourth Avenue during business hours, and complete an application.
