Resurrection Bay Historical Society
The museum is a partnership between the City of Seward and the Resurrection Bay Historical Society, whose collection of objects, photographs and archives is housed and exhibited in our museum spaces.  Visit their website for more information and learn how to become a member.

Projected 2019 Summer MOVIES@2
May 13 - Sept 14, 2019
Daily at 2pm

Join us Summer 2019 for a daily showing of the 1964 earthquake movie, Waves Over Seward, and the Iditarod National Historic Trail: A History. Each movie is 25 minutes and will be shown back to back with a suggested $4 donation. We are the only place in Alaska to view these special historic Alaska movies on a regular basis!

We thank the Iditarod Historic Trail Alliance and the Seward Community Library Association for giving us special permission to show these movies to the public!

Museum Admission
Winter Admission is free.  Summer admission is $4.00 a person.  Children ages 12 and under and members of the Resurrection Bay Historical Society are free.

Museum Appointments
Contact the Library Front Desk to schedule an appointment for a 30 or 60 minute appointment when the museum is closed.  Availability is limited, but we will accommodate requests as we are able.  School group visits are also welcome.  Contact the Program Coordinator for more information.  Donations are appreciated.

Children's Area
A collection of books about museums, local history and interests, as well as play things that represent our community, environment and history have been selected for the children's area in our museum.  Ask for the Museum Explorers Guide and scavenger hunt activity sheets at the front desk.

Research Appointments
Contact the Curator to ask about scheduling a research appointment.

Image Use Requests
Contact the Curator to request permission to use images belonging to the Resurrection Bay Historical Society.  Contact the Seward Community Library Association directly at to ask about their photo collection.
