The Seward Community Library and Museum is a department of the City of Seward. As of January 2012, the Seward Museum has merged with Seward Community Library in preparation for our move to a new combined facility on Sixth. Construction is going on right now!

The library, located on Fifth and Adams, provides both physical and virtual materials in a safe, secure facility that serves the educational and informational needs of our patrons in the most efficient and effective manner possible.  Our 4595 library cardholders have access to 30,000 volumes including videos, recorded books, and music, computer CD's and DVD's.  Most books and materials can be checked out for three weeks.  Videos/DVD's are checked out for three days.  Material can be renewed by telephone or at the desk.

The museum, located on Third and Jefferson, contains almost 5,000 objects, photographs, and archives pertaining to the diverse history of Seward. Seward's story tells us about the lives of those who came before us, and the experiences they had as this town developed. Currently, the museum is packing many of its objects, but there are still exhibits up for viewing.
