Press Release: City of Seward Utility Billing & Payment

The City of Seward Utility Billing and Payment Update 

In line with the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services precautionary guidelines on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Seward has decided to temporarily suspend service at the in-person billing and payment counters at City Hall.  Payments will be accepted by mail, or online or by phone.  Utility billing is working remotely and can be reached by telephone at 907-599-0374 and by email at Remote utility billing will be available until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday March 19, 2020 and during regular business hours thereafter. 

Public health and safety is the City’s highest priority. Work that would require City personnel to enter a customer’s home is being suspended except under emergency circumstances.  Workorder requests will be reviewed based upon need, environmental conditions and employee safety. Requests for seasonal turn-ons will be evaluated based upon need. Thank you for your patience.

City of Seward COVID-19 Response

The City of Seward officially declared a Public Health Emergency at a Level III Incident in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) on March 17, 2020.  All non-essential personnel were instructed to go home to work remotely and all City offices, with the exception of the Police Department window in City Hall, were closed to the public until April 24, 2020, or until otherwise determined.  Essential staff continue to work and emergency services will still be provided as needed. 

The City of Seward thanks the community for coming together under these unprecedented circumstances and asks everyone to strictly comply with State mandates in order to slow the spread of the highly infectious COVID-19 in Seward.  Protect yourself; protect your community!
